School Roundup: LGBT group files complaint; Durham financial woes continue

|

STATEWIDE: Activists seek federal coercion against parental rights laws

An LGBT group has filed a federal complaint over two of North Carolina’s laws limiting the scope of LGBT dominance at the local school level.

Citing Fairness in Women’s Sports and the Parents’ Bill of Rights (laws covered by B&R here, including why activists cite Title IX), the group reportedly argues that even requiring schools to notify parents of requested pronoun/sex changes amounts to a “hostile educational environment.”

See WRAL for more details —>

DURHAM: DPS rues salary mistake and subsequent walkouts

For sake of time, and given our niche on worldview issues, the B&R is choosing — for now — not to write in depth on the Durham Public Schools financial mishaps that continue to cause rolling bus route and even school closures, like rolling blackouts. We would point you to WRAL and other local news sources. This WRAL story is particularly helpful.
